Take a moment to read the functions and benefits listed below.
Function:
Braking force is transferred from pedal to wheel by hydraulic action to slow and stop the vehicle. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, naturally attracting moisture and so with age losing much of its efficiency.
Benefit:
Changing brake fluid on time ensures hydraulic braking efficiency, maintaining a safe braking distance when called upon.
Function:
A toothed rubber belt synchronising the moving parts of the engine, with pulleys that keep the belt at the correct tension.
Benefit:
Changing the cam belt and tensioner pulleys on time will prevent the belt from slipping or snapping, so preventing serious damage to the engine, which would immobilise the car and possibly cost thousands of pounds to rectify.
Function:
DPF flush lowers the temperature at which the soot particles will burn in the exhaust, helping to regenerate the filter. Aids passive regeneration of the DPF, especially in cases where exhaust temperatures are low, like stop and start traffic, actively reducing soot and ultimately reducing incidence of premature failure.
Benefit:
Using the DPF flush regularly at service intervals will help prevent the diesel particulate filter from becoming blocked and inoperative.
Function:
A rubber belt that connects auxiliary devices such as alternator, power steering pump and A/C compressor to the main engine drive shaft. Over time the belt will wear and may slip or snap, and immobilise your car.
Benefit:
Replacing your drive belt on time, and with a genuine Vauxhall part will provide peace of mind to ensure your car doesn’t let you down.
Function:
To ensure engine oil is maintained at the correct level between services.
Benefit:
Modern engines run to fine tolerances and require high-performance oil for lubrication. Topping up with the correct oil avoids unnecessary contamination of that already in the engine.
Function:
A filter that removes contaminates from the fuel, preventing blockage or damage to the injectors. Fuel filters are essential for optimal engine performance, and therefore should be replaced in accordance with the cars maintenance schedule.
Benefit:
Using original genuine parts fitted by Vauxhall trained technicians will ensure your car performs as the Vauxhall engineers intended.
Function:
An annual vehicle check which will allow a Vauxhall authorised repairer to activate the warranty extension for another year.
Benefit:
Reactivation of your Lifetime Warranty will provide you with peace of mind by covering the costs required to repair or replace parts (including major components and many required to pass the annual MOT) and the associated labour charges.
Function:
A series of checks to the key areas of the vehicle with adjustments made as required. In addition, the engine oil and filter are replaced.
Benefit:
Having your car serviced by our factory trained technicians will ensure its correct operation, reduce unnecessary repair costs and provide you with peace of mind.
Function:
A detailed examination of the vehicle taking typically double the time of an interim service. As well as carrying out a series of checks and adjustments, more components are replaced in addition to the engine oil and filter, such as spark plugs, air filters and fuel filters.
Benefit:
Carrying out a major service when required will ensure that the vehicle continues to operate as intended. Having us complete this work using factory trained technicians and genuine parts, will help protect you and your investment.
Function:
An annual test (required on all cars after three years from first registration) to ensure minimum acceptable state of environmental and roadworthiness, required by law.
Benefit:
We are approved by VOSA to test your car in our own workshop by the same factory trained
technicians that service it. This provides peace of mind and the saves you the inconvenience of having to find another MOT testing station.
Function:
To prevent pollen and other airborne pollutants from entering the cabin.
Benefit:
Replacing the pollen filter annually ensures that the air inside the car is as clean as possible, reducing symptoms such as hay fever and so promoting concentration and driver safety.
Function:
Provides the power to operate the remote control for the security system and central locking.
Benefit:
Changing the remote key fob battery at every main service will ensure the remote does not let you down and will always open and close the car doors.
Function:
A driven pump that circulates coolant through the engine. If the pump becomes noisy or starts to leak then it should be replaced immediately.
Benefit:
The water pump is a vital part of your vehicle’s cooling system and if not replaced could fail and immobilise your vehicle. If the pump is driven via a cam belt, its replacement is also recommended at the same time. The only additional cost will be the parts as the technician will need to remove the belt to gain access to the pump.
