What is a Cambelt?

The cambelt (or timing belt) controls the timing of your engine. The cambelt synchronises the rotation of the engines crankshaft and camshaft to ensure the engine's valves open and close efficiently.

Your vehicles manufacturers identify the optimum point in which a cambelt is changed, either by age of the vehicle or mileage covered. We strongly recommend you stick to their recommended and are able to identify when this is for all makes and models including of course our approved brands; Vauxhall, Skoda, Kia and Ford.

It is important to know that cambelts are made from a rubber material that will degrade over time and should be replaced before the belt teeth wear away throwing out the engines timing, damaging vales and pistons. We must again warn you, this will be an expensive repair and sometimes not even justifiable based on the value of your vehicle.
