Underwoods have MOT Test Centres in Tiptree, Clacton in Essex and Sudbury, Suffolk.

Opening hours for MOT bookings are: Monday to Friday 8am until 6pm. Closed Saturdays.

All our Underwoods garages are approved by the Government appointed Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA, formerly VOSA) and all MOT tests are completed by MOT testers nominated by DVSA.

*Important note: Please be aware that our online booking system can only provide you with a provisional date for your appointment. We must reinforce that this is NOT at this time a confirmed booking. You will however receive a call from our dedicated booking team within 24 hours to confirm the details of your appointment.

Underwoods Garage (Tiptree) Ltd are committed to protecting and respecting any personal information you share with us in whatever format it is given. What information do we collect?

Underwoods Garage (Tiptree) Ltd collect information about you and your vehicle when you engage with our web site, vehicle sales, authorised repairer, parts and body shop facilities. Can I get an MOT tests on cars at Underwoods?

Yes, at Underwoods Motoring in Clacton, Sudbury and Tiptree all we do MOT tests for passenger cars. This is called a Class 4 MOT Licence.

Can I get my Van MOT tested at Underwoods?

Yes, but only at Underwoods Motoring in Sudbury can we do MOT tests for Vans, LCV (Light Commercial Vehicles) and some Motorhomes dependent upon size. This is called a Class 7 MOT Licence.

Can I wait on site while my vehicle is being MOT tested?

Yes, we have a comfortable waiting area at all Underwoods Motoring locations, serving delicious Coffee, Hot Chocolate and various hot drinks.

Finance Disclosure Underwoods Garage (Tiptree) Limited are a credit broker and not a lender. We are Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority FCA No: 310845. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over and guarantees may be required. We work with a number of carefully selected credit providers who may be able to offer you finance for your purchase. We may introduce you to a limited number of finance lenders, who will pay us a commission for introducing you to them. Typically this will be either a fixed fee or a percentage of the advance. Full disclosure of commissions are available upon request. Please be aware all the insurance products offered are optional and may be available from alternative suppliers.
